Backstitch
Show Pack
Equal parts funny and moving, Backstitch is a story about memory, care, and the threads that hold us together. Whether your hands have held a needle or never touched one, there's something here that will feel familiar — a chance to reminisce, remember, and be reminded of what we hold onto and why.
In a world drowning in fast fashion and textile waste, Polly and Esther are on a mission to slow us down, reconnect us to what we already have, and get us to look again before we throw it out.
This work is transportable to aged care facilities, halls, festivals, and outdoor sites.
Alongside the performance, Backstitch can bring a hands-on making and story-sharing workshop that then adds to an interactive textile installation, where audiences are invited to remember through their own textiles and stories.
