Backstitch is a comedic story about memory, care, and the threads that connect us through the textiles we hold onto. Polly and Esther, two eccentric seamstresses, facilitate story-catching, inviting audiences to reminisce and remember as they forage through discarded textiles and the memories stitched into them, from the smell of a grandmother's tablecloth to the weight of a beloved blanket.

In a world drowning in fast fashion and textile waste, they are everyday superheroes slowing us down, reconnecting us to what we already have, and asking us to look again before we throw it out. It's a 30-minute live interactive performance for older adults and intergenerational audiences alike.
